The Problem
Climate change is impacting water ecosystems, particularly through the rise of harmful algal blooms. These blooms threaten aquatic life, human health, and water accessibility.
Market Research
Through environmental reports, competitor analysis, and interviews with potential users, we identified key gaps in existing tools: data is often scattered or too scientific for public use, few apps build community, and users want a balance of informative visuals and simplicity
UX Sketches
We began with sketches to map the flow of key features like algae status, lake maps, and user-submitted observations.
Style Guide
The brand system focuses on clarity, friendliness, and environmental awareness.
We chose the color green to use for positive states and key actions. Colors like white and gray were used for neutral or inactive elements. Along with the use of rounded icons in order to create a soft, inviting visual tone.
